PURPOSE: A method for reporting the receiving of a message by e-mail in a VMS(Voice Mail System) is provided to transmit a received voice message by e-mail, when the message is received in a voice mail box, and to report a message received state to a terminal(PC) registered in an e-mail server. CONSTITUTION: A mobile network consists of a switching center, composed of an MSC(Mobile Switching Center)(100), an HLR(Home Location Register)(106) and a plurality of BSCs(Base Station Controllers)(108), and a plurality of BTSs(Base Transceiver Stations)(110). The mobile network, connected with a plurality of mobile phones(112) by wireless, is connected to a PSTN(104) and a PLMN(Public Land Mobile Network)(102). The BSCs(110) controls wired/wireless links and executes a hand-off function. The BTSs(110) configures wireless communication paths with the mobile phones(112) and manages radio resources. The HLR(106) executes a subscriber location registration function. A VMS(114) stores an information message for the receiving of messages and transfer messages to voice mail subscribers. When a message is transmitted, the VMS(114) reports the number of received messages and an inputted phone number to a receiving side terminal through the MSC(100) and transmits them to an e-mail server(116) with an attached file of a stored voice message. The e-mail server(116) receives and stores the voice data, the number of messages, the inputted phone number and the date transmitted from the VMS(114). A plurality of PCs(PC1-PCn), connected to the e-mail server(116) respectively, receive the number of messages, the inputted phone number, the date and the attached file transmitted from the e-mail server(116) and display them on their respective message display windows. If a user clicks on the attached file, the attached file is regenerated into voices and outputted through the speaker.
