PURPOSE: A LAN bridge is provided to prevent degradation of a performance of a LAN due to congestion of broadcast frames by selectively forwarding and flooding the broadcast frames. CONSTITUTION: An input port(100) receives a plurality of frames. A memory(110) outputs the plurality of frames to each corresponding position in response to a control signal. A controller(120) identifies a transmission type of the plurality of frames stored in the memory and provides a control signal to the memory(110) so that the plurality of frames as stored to each position corresponding to each transmission type. A filtering database unit(130) receives a normal frame, an ARP(Address Resolution Protocol), a response frame and a boot protocol(BOOTP) response frame, and outputs the frames together with a hardware port number data corresponding to each frame. A broadcast forwarding memory(140) receives the ARP request frame, a BOOTP request frame and a BOOTP response frame from the memory(110) and has a broadcast forwarding table data for outputting the frames together with each hardware port number data. A front order waiting queue unit(150) sequentially stores frames inputted from the filtering database unit(130) and the broadcast forwarding memory(140) and outputs the stored frame in a first-in-first-out method through a corresponding output port(170). A back order waiting queue unit(160) sequentially stores frames inputted form the front order waiting queue unit(150) and the memory(110) and outputs the stored frames through every output port of the output port(170).
