<p>In an articulated machine, comprising a front assembly (2) with front drive wheels (3, 4) independent of each other, and a rear assembly (5) with rear drive wheels (6, 7) independent of each other, coupled to the front assembly (2) with an articulation about an essentially vertical axis (12), the aforesaid front and rear wheels are driven by four corresponding electric motors (M1 - M4) which are independent of each other. It is therefore possible to drive the wheels in such a way that they transmit to the ground forces differing in modulus and/or orientation and/or direction of rotation, in order to obtain a desired steering angle between the front assembly (2) and the rear assembly (5). Thus the hydraulic cylinders conventionally used to produce the steering of the articulated machine are eliminated, together with the hydraulic circuit associated with them. The system also comprises an auxiliary electric motor, of a controllable type, which drives a pump forming part of the hydraulic circuit of the operating equipment of the machine. <IMAGE></p> |
