METHOD FOR MONITORING AND DIAGNOSING STATUS OF OPERATION AND MANAGEMENT COMMUNICATION CHANNEL BETWEEN MANAGER AND AGENT IN FIBER LOOP CARRIER SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A method for monitoring and diagnosing the status of an operation and management communication channel between a manager and an agent in a fiber loop carrier system is provided to take an immediate step by monitoring a communication channel under operation in a fiber loop carrier system. CONSTITUTION: If an operation and management communication channel status monitoring and diagnostic request is received from an operator(510), a communication channel monitoring processing part calls the OSI(Open System Interconnection) communication stack of each agent system and the OSI communication stack of a manager system(520,530). If the OSI communication stacks respond to the calling, the communication channel monitoring processing part requests the communication status information of each agent system through the OSI communication stacks(590) and judges whether a communication status message is normally received from each agent system(600). In case that there is no response from the agent systems or the manager system fails to receive the response, the communication channel monitoring processing part judges that there is an error in the program functions of the manager system or the agent systems(610). The communication channel monitoring processing part records and stores the error status(620) and displays it through the GUI(630).
