PURPOSE: Structure of a shift lever switch for an automatic transmission is provided to improve accuracy of manipulation and the manipulation feeling by integrating a parking position switch with a key lock switch of a shift lever. CONSTITUTION: A shift lever switch(1) is installed on a detent plate(3) including a shift lever(2). The shift lever switch includes a sensing box(7) integrated with an ignition switch(6) connected with a parking position sensor(4) and a key set(5) connected with a transmission control unit(3). The sensing box consists of a contact plate(9), a guide terminal plate(11), a grounding plate, and an ignition switch plate(15). Upon moving the shift lever in the parking range(8) by pressing a push button(16), a locker pin(12) pressurizes the contact plate. An elastic member(10) is compressed elastically, and the guide terminal plate is connected with the grounding plate. The transmission control unit senses the position of the shift lever. A parking solenoid lever is released by the signal of the transmission control unit. Therefore, the shift lever is operated.
