PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production process of a bully metal boron compound with high melting point for an extremely short period of time using the thermit reaction process. SOLUTION: The boron compound is obtained by using the thermit process reaction from a mixture, comprising a) the oxide of a metal selected from Cr, Mo and V, b)boron oxide mixed in a sufficient amount so as to form almost the boride of the above metal, c) reducing agent consisting of Al, Mg or alloy thereof, and d) flux.
