PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tread cleaning device for wheel capable of providing an effective cleaning in all speed ranges by switching a polishing element according to wheel speeds. SOLUTION: A first torque receiving rod 2 and a second torque receiving rod 3 are inserted movably into a cylinder 1, and polishing elements having different characteristics are connected detachably to the outer end of the first torque receiving rod 2 and the outer end of the second torque receiving rod 3 through polishing element receivers 5 and 7, respectively. An air pressure source is connected selectively to one side of the first torque receiving rod 2 and second torque receiving rod 3 through a switching valve 8, and rod returning springs 9 and 10 are installed on the other side thereof.
