The sectional grating has plates (2) and tubes (3,4) or bars which can be mounted perpendicular to each other. Connectors for the parts, and devices fixing the plates (2) to the wall above a window or to the floor as a fence element, are also provided. The connectors are welded rods (7) or spherical-head rods (7') in spherical recesses (2') in each tube (3) housing rods (4) projecting beyond plates (2) and having breakable-head nuts (1) which are tightened to a critical torque causing the hexagonal head to break. The plates and the tubes perpendicular to these can both be selectively installed in the horizontal and vertical positions.
