The procedure uses a bin (4) with a polygonal base which can be detached from a supporting frame (1) to allow the mixture to be carried to the place where it is to be used. The bin has a removable cover (36) with a central aperture (46) for filling, and the frame can be set with the bin positioned horizontally for filling and at an angle for mixing, when the bin is rotated by a support (26) powered e.g. by an electric drill (59). The frame has three supporting surfaces (7, 11, 13) for positioning the bin horizontally or at an angle, and for standing the mixer on end for storage.
