PURPOSE: Provided is a novel antifungal polypeptides group which is obtained from Holotrichia diomphalia, shows excellent antifungal on fungi and has no toxicity to a human body. CONSTITUTION: The novel polypeptides are manufactured by the steps of: crushing Holotrichia diomphalia and centrifuging it; heat-treating the supernatant then precipitating it; performing reverse phase chromatography with the supernatant; and performing gel filtration chromatography with the obtained active fractions. It is represented by the formula:(Y1)m-(X2-(X1)1-3)-(X3)x-(Y2)n, wherein X is Gly-Gly-Gly-X1'; X1' is histidine, phenylalanine or tyrosine; X2 is Gly-X2'-Gly-X2''; X2' is hydrophilic amino acid; X2'' is hydrophilic amino acid or proline; X3 is Gly-Gly-Gly-Gly-X3'; X3' is hydrophilic amino acid; Y1 and Y2 are polypeptides; m and n are natural numbers; and the hydrophilic amino acid is selected from the group consisting of glycine, asparagine, lysine and serine. An antifungal composition contains the polypeptide as a biological active ingredient.
