DEVICE FOR SCANNING AND DECODING OF INFORMATION RECORDED ON A TAPE CARRIER

The device is used in the electronic industry for controlling the work of industrial products and in transport for controlling the running and the condition of the rolling stock. By it the process of scanning, adequate conversion in digital form, decoding, and after additional processing, printing of information recorded by an optical or mechanical registering unit on a tape carrier is automated. The device includes a transport mechanism consisting of a left- and righthand type carrying roller, the righthand one being connected to an electric motor. On the zone between the two rollers there is a crossbar above which a tape carrier of information travels. In case of a transparent tape carrier a dissuse-dissipation light plate is fitted on the crossbar. Above the information carrier a light source, a mirror and an optic system projecting a specified part of the tape carrier on a photo receiver - a charge carrying device (CCD) are mounted. On the left side of the tape carrier a sensor is fitted for recording the speed of the tape travel. A personal computer making use of software developed for this purpose controls the operation of the device by means of a controller and secures the data processing and printing. 2 claims, 1 figure
