The entry for a rainwater tank comprises a stairway (19) held horizontally when not in use and pivotable to an inclined usage position. It is equipped with a railing (41), a cover (31) for closure of at least one entry aperture (7) in the top (3) of the rainwater tank (1), together with devices for fixture of the stairway and the cover to the top of the rainwater tank. The upper end of the stairway and the cover are fixed to a frame (9) attached to the entry aperture. The frame incorporates coupling devices (21,33) which connect the stairway and the cover to each other.
