PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cell search method by which a correlation peak between a preceding wave and a delayed wave is controlled so that the peak can be detected in a window of the same symbol number of a matched filter. SOLUTION: A mobile station adopting a direct spread-code division multiple access system employing the cell search method divides mask symbol timings SP, TP, resulting from masking a slot period of a received signal by a prescribed period, by symbol timing of a matched filter providing a window within a prescribed time range so as to detect the timings SP, TP. In the case that the timing of the mask symbol is detected separately as the preceding window #1 and the succeeding window #2, when a difference between temporal positions of timings of the respective mask symbols in the respective windows exceeds a predetermined threshold value, the timing of the window of the matched filter is controlled so that the timing SP of the mask symbol of the preceding window and the timing TP of the mask symbol of the succeeding window can be detected in the one window #1 in this sequence. |
