PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of a conventional image pickup device that cannot have been incorporated in a personal computer with a low profile, a portable telephone set and a personal information terminal or the like as e.g. a fingerprint collation device because the conventional image pickup device employs a rectangular prism and lenses for image forming purposes for its optical system resulting in increasing its entire device size. SOLUTION: Adopting a structure where an optical path from a lighting light incidence section up to a detection face is in a state of crossing with an optical path from an image forming section up to an image pickup section for the image pickup device of this invention to reduce the size of its optical system. Thus, the small-sized image pickup device can be realized. |
