PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cathode-ray tube that further improves the effect of suppressing development of mire fringes, while making both effects compatible for suppressing doming quantity and developing of moire fringes. SOLUTION: Projections 22a and 22b are projecting from horizontal ends of each opening 21 into it, and in the horizontal cross section at the projections 22a and 22b, shapes of facing portions at the both sides of the opening are made asymmetric with respect to a center line 23, so as to reduce or shut the incident electron beam. Suppressing effects of doming quantity and developing of moire fringes are made compatible by formation of the projections 22a and 22b, and the effect of suppressing moire fringes can further be increased, by making the shapes of facing portions at the both sides of the projection asymmetric.
