PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing recording medium capable of decreasing the shape defects of a recording medium and an apparatus for manufacturing the same, a taking up method of the recording medium capable of taking up the recording medium by decreasing the shape defects and an apparatus for taking up the same. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing or taking up of the recording medium 51, the sheet-like recording medium 51 having a coating film is taken up on a take-up roll 5 while the take-up roll 5 is oscillated or is moved in one direction or is oscillated or is moved in one direction around one end of a guide roller disposed in front of the take-up roll as a fulcrum.
