PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a programmable controller(PC) and its data setting device capable of setting up data from a remote place and rewriting a program. SOLUTION: The PC 6 for controlling an FA 100 or the like is provided with the data setting device 1 for rewriting a program or operation data stored in its storage means and the device 1 is provided with a modem communication interface part 4 for connecting the device 1 to a telephone line 300, so that the program or the operation data stored in the storage means of the PC 1 can be rewritten through the telephone line 300, the setting of data can be simply and easily executed by remote control and the cost of data setting can be reduced.
