PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a picture for trapezoidal distortion correction, which is used to project a picture free from trapezoidal distortion on a screen, at a low cost without degradation in picture quality when there is a tilt angle in the perpendicular direction between the normal of the screen and the optical axis of a projection optical system of a projector. SOLUTION: In the presence of the tilt angle in the perpendicular direction between the normal of the screen and the optical axis of the projection optical system of the projector, a picture is reduced in horizontal and vertical directions to generate the picture for trapezoidal distortion correction. A vertical distortion correction processing part 1 which subjects picture data to interpolation processing in the vertical direction to generate interpolation lines and generates a picture reduced or enlarged in the vertical direction, a horizontal distortion correction processing part 2 which subjects picture data to interpolation processing in the horizontal direction to generate interpolation data in every line and generates a picture reduced or enlarged in the horizontal direction, and a memory part 3 which outputs picture data after processing in the vertical distortion correction processing part 1 and the horizontal distortion correction processing part 2 at a prescribed timing after storing them are provided. |
