PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an economical, accurate, and high-reliability liquid level sensor and a liquid level detecting system. SOLUTION: This liquid level detecting system is provided with a resistive element Rs arranged with the upper end section at the upper section of a container 20 and the lower end section at the lower section of the container 20. The resistance of the resistive element Rs is changed from the upper section of the container 20 to the lower section. At least partially conductive splits 39, 51 practically equal to the resistive element Rs in length are arranged in the container 20 nearly in parallel with the resistive element Rs and nearly at the same height in the container 20. An input signal source 70 is connected to the resistive element Rs via a series resistor R0.
