PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electronic equipment with a character input keyboard capable of improving efficiency of character input and a character input keyboard capable of comparatively efficiently inputting characters while watching engraved marks of keys by adding some number of keys. SOLUTION: In this electronic equipment with the character input keyboard in a system to determine characters at each stage of KANA (Japanese syllabary) by frequency off continuous depression of a line specification key to specify a line to which the character belongs, four additional keys 120, 121, 122, 123 capable of specifying the same function as the continuous depression from twice to five times for input of the characters at each stage are further provided at the character input keyboard and the inputted character is detrained also by depression of the additional keys without performing the continuous depression of the line specification key. As for alphabet, a character described by capital letters of the engraved mark of the key corresponds to one time of depression, the character is determined by circulating it in a descending order according to the frequency of the continuous depression.
