PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the yield in an inspection stage for inspecting the flying height of a magnetic head facing a disk. SOLUTION: The magnetic head 16 consists of a slider 62 made of ceramics, a magnetic transducer part 64 to which the slider 62 is assembled and a regulating member 66 for regulating the flying height and floating posture with respect to the disk surface. The slider 62 is provided with a groove part 68, to which the regulating member 66 is fixed and rail parts 70 and 72 which project to both sides of the groove part 68 and extend in parallel to the groove part 68, on a dish oppositing surface 62a. When the abnormality of the head flying height and the head posture is discovered in an inspection stage, the regulating member 66 is exchangeably mounted and therefore the slider 62 manufactured through many stages is not regarded as a defective and its regulating member is exchanged with another regulating member 66 of a different shape and thereafter the slider 62 is subjected to inspection again and may be usably regenerated.
