Secured sanitary catheter for administering liquids into cardiovascular system of animals during slaughter

A secured sanitary catheter (2) for administration of treatment solution into animals comprises a catheter body (6) with a longitudinal bore (18) and a sanitary vascular securing device (16) attached to the catheter body. The catheter body has a proximal end and a distal end, with the longitudinal bore (18) terminating in an opening (20) at the distal end of the catheter body, for delivery of treatment solution into a vessel of an animal. The sanitary vascular securing device (16) contains a plurality of slots (62, 64, 66, 68, 70, 72) for mechanically and frictionally engaging the vessel at two or more points. The present invention further relates to a method for using the secured sanitary catheter of the present invention.
