The pump has a casing floating or suspended in the liquid and an open top overflow and bottom opening or slots through which the liquid enters and in which the pump impeller rotates freely. There are also shutters or baffles for adjusting the inward flow of liquid to the pump output at different pump speeds. The pump may be driven from above or under driven from a submerged drive unit. An open slit near the base of of the impeller permits air to be sucked in with the liquid to assist in the atomisation which results from the centrifugal delivery of the liquid from the tips of the hollow impeller blades. |
