PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently use radiation generated from a radiation source in an irradiation system using a conveyer in passing articles through the radiation source. SOLUTION: This irradiation system includes a radiation source 10 arranged along a horizontal axis, a plurality of article carriers 17, an operation conveyer 14 supporting the article carriers and letting them pass through the radiation source at a first speed, a ceiling power and free transportation conveyer 12 transferring the article carriers from a loading zone at a second speed different from the first speed, and a loading conveyer 13 engaged with the article carrier and transferring the engaged article carrier from the transportation conveyer to the operation conveyer. After another route reversing the direction 180 deg. about a vertical shaft is set thereto, the article carrier holding the article with the radiation received only in its first side transfers and passes through the radiation source again, so that a second side opposite to the first side of the held article is received the radiation from the radiation source. |
