摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seabed sedimentary layer parameter estimation device stably estimating the parameter values expressing the characteristics of the seabed sedimentary layer from measurement data. SOLUTION: Observation characteristic value calculation parts 204, 306 find dispersion characteristics C0 of group speeds of elastic waves propagating the seabed sedimentary layer from the observation data of the seabed sedimentary layer, or an estimation object. An estimation characteristic value operation part 301 theoretically estimate the dispersion characteristic C of the group speeds of the elastic waves based on combination of candidates values of a plurality of parameters expressing the physical characteristics of the seabed sedimentary layer. An initial group generation part 305 and a gene operation part 303 generate and evolute the combination of the candidate values of the parameters as individual by genetic algorithm. An adaptability operation part 302 finds the adaptability expressing the extent of the accordance between the dispersion characteristics C0 and dispersion characteristics C and set a combination of the candidate values comprising the most adaptable individual to the solution.
