PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the range-finder of a camera by which a range-finding point is efficiently obtained at high speed while inexpensively constituting it by using a simple arithmetic control circuit such as an ordinary one-chip microcomputer. SOLUTION: This range-finder possesses a CPU1 provided with functions as a first splitting means to split an image plane into the M-number of points, a luminance measuring means to measure a luminance distribution at each of the M-number of points, a selecting means to select the N-number of points out of the M-number of points based on the luminance measured result of the luminance measuring means and a second splitting means to respectively split the N-number of points selected by the selecting means more at the time of deciding the main object position. |
