PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method applicable to a negative image forming material capable of directly recording from digital data using infrared laser, unnecessary for a large-sized device or energy and capable of providing a planographic printing plate excellent in image forming property and printing durability. SOLUTION: An exposure process for image-exposing the negative image forming material provided with a photosensitive layer containing an infrared adsorbent A, a radical generating agent B, a radically polymerizable compound and a binder polymer D on a supporting body, a heating process for heating the exposed image forming material at 60-120 deg.C for 1-20 sec and a developing process for developing the heated image forming material with an alkali aqueous solution are included. The development is preferably performed with the weak alkaline aqueous solution having pH 7-12 and the image forming material preferably has a water soluble over coat layer formed on the photosensitive layer. |
