PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video display device which has incoherent light of an LED or the like as a light emission source to obtain a projection video of high luminance and high resolution with a very compact structure. SOLUTION: The device is provided with the light emission source of plural incoherent light beams which emits light in response to an inputted video signal, a condensing means which narrows down the diameters of light beams emitted from the light emission source and arranges light beams in the direction of one axis, a deflecting means which receives and deflects light from the condensing means, and a distortion correction means which corrects distortion of light from the deflecting means to form an optical path going to a display face, and an oscillator with a mirror, for example, a galvanomirror 7 is used as the deflecting means, and the movement in the direction of a higher speed of oscillatory movements of the galvanomirror 7 is made to correspond to the fly, back period of video, and that of a lower speed is made correspond to the display period of video.
