PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a plug for an optical connector, a method needing no grinding, reducing working hours, simplifying an operation process and improving workability. SOLUTION: An optical fiber tip end positioning member 50, which is equipped with such positioning part 52 as formed by giving a slight recess in a part of a flat end face 51, and a ferrule 10 for an optical connector plug 100 are brought into contact with each other at the end faces so that the positioning part 52 and an inserting hole for an optical fiber are matched; an optical fiber 20, whose tip end 21 is cut with high precision so as to be vertical to the axial direction and mirror-finished, is inserted into the inserting hole as far as the tip end 21 hits the bumping face 52a of the positioning part 52; and in this state, the optical fiber 20 is fixed on the ferrule 10 with an adhesive.
