PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a short circuit between a plurality of extraction electrodes through a meta lid in an EL display structure which has a metal lid over a pixel area of a display panel. SOLUTION: An electroluminescent display comprising a display panel 1' formed with a pixel area in which EL elements are arranged and formed, and with an extraction electrode 13 formed on a substrate 11 extracted to outside from the pixel area, an insulation film 2 which is formed on the extraction electrode 13 in a state that the end part of the electrode 14 located in a peripheral part of the substrate 11 is exposed, and the metal lid 3 put on the pixel area in the state where the metal lid is placed and contact to the peripheral part of the extract electrode 13 through the insulation film 2, wherein furthermore, an upper contact layer 15 constituted by using at least one of Cr, Ti, and nickel between the extraction electrode 13 consisting of Au and the insulated film 2, is formed in a state of exposing the end part of the extraction electrode 13. |
