PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply and inexpensively constitute a valve opening holding method capable of coping with drain required for continuously discharging water and a faucet for a cold district in a self-closing faucet capable of automatically recovering an operation part up to a closing valve position by a driving means after a valve element is opened by moving the operation part and water is discharged. SOLUTION: In a self-closing faucet automatically recovering an operation part up to a valve closing position by a driving part after a valve element is opened by moving the operation part and water is discharged, the operation part is provided with a latch means or opening of the valve element is held by a mounting means for a weight.
