PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a trace information important for investigating the cause of a fault from being deleted by overwrite, and to surely acquire and hold the trace information, which can be immune to the investigation of plural faults as well. SOLUTION: Concerning the trace information managing system having plural trace areas for storing trace information for cyclically writing the trace information into these trace areas, when an important trace information is acquired, the overwrite of that trace area is inhibited and afterwards, the relevant trace area is not defined as the object of the write destination. When the number of trace areas in the overwrite inhibited state reaches a fixed number, in order to prevent the acquisition of trace information from being stopped by turning all the trace areas into overwrite inhibited state, the trace information in the trace area, which is turned into overwrite inhibited state lastly, is outputted to a file and the overwrite inhibition of the relevant trace area is canceled.
