Each toothed wheel is driven by a pushbutton operated ratchet device formed as one integral component. The counter comprises four toothed wheels (1,2,3,4) regularly spaced around a watch. Each toothed wheel is driven by a ratchet drive mechanism (6,17,20,23) which is operated by a lateral pushbutton and returned to its rest position by a spring. Each toothed wheel is held in place by a spring biased retaining arm (7,9,18,21). The pushbutton and ratchet device for each toothed wheel is formed as a single piece with the retaining arm of the neighbouring wheel. Each toothed wheel carries either a pointing hand, or an index disc in order to display a specific score.
