PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switch for detecting opening or closing of the door of a icemaking chamber with high reliability at a low cost without impairing the appearance of the chamber. SOLUTION: This refrigerator comprises the icemaking chamber 20, an icemaker 30 having an icemaking tray 34, a door 26 for opening/closing the front surface of the chamber 20, and a reed switch 48 for detecting the opening/ closing of the door 26. In this case, the switch 48 is provided in a driver 38 of the front end of the icemaker 30. Thus, the switch 48 is provided on a printed board 46 for the icemaker 30 disposed in the driver 38.
