PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical waveguide type module which, by a simple structure, can shade light sneaking in a photodetector from a semiconductor laser. SOLUTION: On a waveguide substrate 2, an LD element is installed integrally with waveguide cores 3a, 3b to which a laser beam fiber from the LD element 4 is made incident. Near the end of the waveguide core 3b, a signal receiving PD element 7 is arranged which receives a receiving signal light from the waveguide core 3b. A shading resin coat 12 is provided extendedly from the LD element 4 to the incident part of the waveguide core 3a, preventing unnecessary light from leaking outside as stray light. In addition, a shading resin coat 14 is also provided extendedly from the end of the waveguide core 3a to the signal receiving PD element 7, preventing external light from being received as a potential noise component by the signal receiving PD element 7. |
