PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare plural exclusive BIOS modules corresponding to the kinds of various devices in a system ROM without restrictions on the size of an RAM area at the destination of copy. SOLUTION: Plural exclusive BIOS modules, respectively corresponding to plural devices exclusively loadable as an LAN controller 15 are stored in a BIOS-ROM 19, and at copying of the system BIOS from the BIOS-ROM 19 to an RAM area, not all the plural exclusive BIOS modules but only the exclusive BIOS module corresponding to the kind of the device actually loaded as the LAN controller 15 is selected and copied to the RAM area.
