PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multiple-chamber-type air-conditioner where one indoor machine can perform heating operation and the other can arbitrarily select either cooling or heating operation at a low-outdoor temperature as in winter. SOLUTION: In the multiple-chamber-type air-conditioner, a refrigeration cycle is formed by connecting a first indoor heat exchanger 6a of a parallel first expansion valve 7 in a first indoor machine 2a and a second indoor heat exchanger 6b of a second expansion valve 8 in a second indoor machine 2b to a compressor 3, a four-way valve 4, and an outdoor heat exchanger 5, an on/off valve 11, is provided at the connection piping between the first indoor heat exchanger 6a and four-way valve 4. At the same time, a bypass pipe 14 with a third expansion valve 13 for connecting connection piping 10 of between the on/off valve 11 and the first indoor heat exchanger 6a to connection piping 12 between the second expansion valve 8 and the second indoor heat exchanger 6b is provided, thus selecting the first in door machine 2a to either cooling or heat operation when the second indoor machine 2b is subjected to heating operation.
