PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To initialize communication equipment in which a fault takes place while the information of a position where the fault such as hang-up occurs is held in a memory unit. SOLUTION: This communication equipment connected to a network is provided with a storing means which specifies a part that is cause of a fault when the fault takes place and stores the part in a memory, and a protecting means which protects information stored in the memory so as not to be eliminated when the communication equipment main body is initialized by a reset signal from the network in order to solve the fault.
