PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device and a control method using successive approximation algorithm having high convergence. SOLUTION: The control method is provided with a step (a) for providing the m-th (m is a positive integer including 0) order approximate solution xi(m) of a function F (x1, x2,..., xk)=0 consisting of k (k>=1, k is an integer) variables, a step (b) for finding out a residual F (x1(m)) of the m-th order approximate solution xi(m), a step (c) for finding out a correction valueδxi(0) for the m-th order approximate solution xi(m) on the basis the residual F(x1(m)), and a step (d) for finding out an unsettled coefficientαi for making a residual F(x1(m+1)) of an (m+1)th order approximate solution xi(m+1) zero. The method is provided also with a step (e) for finding out a re-corrected valueδxi(m) on the basis of the correction valueδxi(0) and the unsettled coefficientαi and a step (f) for finding out a converged solution as the (m+1)th order approximate solution xi(m+1) on the basis of the re-corrected valueδxi(m).
