Procedure for forming line of suspended objects such as plastic bottles on overhead conveyor uses air jets to control position and speed of objects

The procedure consists of assembling the objects in a downstream section (Z2) of the conveyor (2) by the use of air jets (J) applied in an upstream section (Z1) and slowing down the objects in the downstream section, interrupting or reducing the power of the jets in the upstream zone as necessary to prevent objects entering the downstream zone. The objects are slowed down or halted during the assembly stage with the aid of reverse air jets (R) in the downstream zone, applied in the opposite direction to that in which the objects are transported, while acceleration and braking in the downstream zone are performed by air jets (J, J') acting above and below the objects' suspension points.
