摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glucose monitor having a sensor part excellent in durability, reduced in the generation of a drift caused by a contaminant or deterioration and taking no labor and time in maintenance. SOLUTION: The concentration of glucose in a specimen (blood, intercellular fluid) is measured by a total reflection measuring method using an ATR prism 11, an infrared light source 14, an interference filter 18 (permitting only light with a wavelength of the absorption peak of glucose to pass) and a photodetector 20. The ATR prism 11 is formed from a material high in mechanical and chemical strength like diamond. Since a contaminant can be simply removed by a mechanical or chemical method even if the measuring surface of the ATR prism 11 is contaminated with protein or the like, it is unnecessary to replace the ATR prism 11 with a new one.</p>
