PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a noise eliminating device capable of effectively eliminating noise generated from a horizontal synchronization circuit and a deflection circuit or the like and thereby enhancing the latitude of circuit layout in designing a television receiver. SOLUTION: The noise eliminating device is provided with a noise detection section 6 that selects an optional period among vertical blanking periods of an input video signal on the basis of a horizontal count from a horizontal counter 1 and detects a noise component (correction position data, correction amount data) included in signals in the selected period, correction position storage sections 21-2N and correction amount storage sections 41-4N that store the detected noise component, comparison sections 31-3N, an adder section 7 and a low pass filter 5 that sum the stored noise components for all the horizontal periods and generate a correction signal to eliminate the noise included in the video signal for the valid scanning period, and a sbutractor section 9 that uses the correction signal to eliminate the noise included in the input video signal.
