PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oscillator that uses a crystal vibrator having stable performance and capable of being manufactured at a low cost so as to cover a wide range frequency, can use the crystal vibrator without any frequency adjustment and can be delivered at a low cost for a short delivery period. SOLUTION: In the oscillator that has a 1st programmable divider that applies frequency division to an oscillated signal from a piezoelectric vibrator at a frequency division number M to obtain a reference signal, a PLL circuit section that is operated by using the reference signal for an input signal, provided to a feedback circuit and obtains a multiple signal resulting from multiplying the input signal with a 2nd frequency division number N of a 2nd programmable divider, and a 3rd programmable divider that can output a signal resulting from frequency-dividing the multiple signal by a 3rd frequency division number X, the frequency division numbers M, N, and X are selected independently of each other. Since the oscillator can utilize infinite combinations of the frequency division numbers M, N, X in this way, kinds of frequencies generated by the single oscillator can remarkably be extended through the selection of proper combinations.
