摘要 Patent 50074 A method for the determination of creatinine in a fluid test sample involves contacting the fluid test sample with a reagent composition and determining the concentration of creatinine in the fluid test sample by a) determining the intensity of the coloured response and b) comparing this intensity to that obtained using fluid test samples containing known concentrations of creatinine. The reagent composition contains: c) cupric ions; d) a hyperoxide, e) citrate; f) an oxidizable dye which provides a coloured response in the presence of oxygen free radicals; g) a pseudoperoxide and h) a stabilizing amount of an ionizable phosphate containing compound of formula (I) wherein positions 2, 3, 4 and 5 are -CH2-, -CHOH-, -CH[OP(=O)-(OH)2]-, -CH-CH2-[OP(=O)-(OH)2]-; position 1 is any of the above or -O-; M is H or a group I or II metal and n and m are independently 0 or 1. The ionizable phosphate is added to the reagent composition to stabilize the reagent composition before contacting it with the fluid test sample.
