PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmitting and receiving module that has a structure for shielding stray-light from LD light sneaking into PD for receiving. SOLUTION: In the optical transmitting and receiving module having an LD element for transmission and a PD element for reception, the module is characterized by the structure in which the side of the PD element is shielded, preventing light from entering from the side.
