SOLUTION: When a speed difference ΔN between the front wheel and the rear wheel is larger than a threshold ΔNα, a target torque TFB is computed on the basis of this wheel speed difference ΔN. When the wheel speed difference ΔN is equal to or smaller than the threshold ΔNα is satisfied, a target torque TFF is computed on the basis of the quantity of depression PS of an accelerator pedal. Next a torque limit value in accordance with vehicle speed is determined, and the target torque TFB or TFF is limited by the torque limit value LT to drive a motor 9 making this a drive toque T*. A limit torque value for the target torque TFB is set on the basis of the instantaneous maximum output of the motor 9. A limit torque value for the target torque TFF is set in accordance with the continuous rated output of the motor 9. When ΔN is equal to or smaller than the threshold value ΔNα is satisfied, drive force is generated causing it to correspond to the instantaneous maximum output of the motor 9.
