<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording and reproducing device which stores the recording and reproducing position of a video at the time of starting the input of characters by correlating the position with inputted characters and can reproduce the video from the corresponding recording and reproducing position by indicating the characters. SOLUTION: The recording and reproducing device is provided with a recording and reproducing means which records and reproduces videos, a character inputting means which inputs characters, and a recording and reproducing position storing means which stores the information indicating the then recording and reproducing position, characters inputted by means of the character inputting means, and the information indicating the area to which the characters are inputted by correlating them with each other when the inputting means starts the input of the characters while the recording and reproducing means performs recording or reproduction. When the user selects one out of a plurality of character displaying areas, the recording and reproducing device starts the reproduction of videos from the recording and reproducing position which is stored in correlation with the selected area.</p> |
