PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk drive system for reducing a device loading space on information equipment, such as a personal computer by performing access to both optical disk media and smart media in a pace for a disk drive. SOLUTION: This disk drive system, constituted of a disk-shaped disk storage medium and a disk drive for performing access to the disk storage medium, is provided with a media cartridge in the same shape as that of the disk storage medium, on which one or more compact storage media can be mounted. In this case, the disk drive is provided with an access means for performing access to the compact storage medium mounted on the media cartridge. |
