PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide data communication equipment in a POS system, by which data communication is performed in a private communication mode and an inter-terminal communication mode and convenience is enhanced with less current consumption. SOLUTION: Data communication equipment in the POS system provided with a controller 1 and a plurality of portable input terminals 3 and having the private communication mode for data communication between the controller 1 and respective portable input terminals 3 and also the inter-terminal communication mode for a direct call between the terminals 3 is provided with a change- over means by which data communication is performed by the private communication mode between the controller 1 and the terminals 3 in the case of a normality and by which, in the case of the call between the terminals 3, a calling side portable input terminal 3 instructs the opposite terminal to the controller 1, the controller transmits a communication mode change-over command to the instructed opposite terminal, the opposite terminal receives the communication mode change-over command and change-over is performed into the inter- terminal communication mode. |
