PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the open processing performance or close processing performance of a file, and to improve the processing performance of a system, which performs access to a magnetic tape device by emulating a tape operation related with EOF identification in the open processing of a file for simplifying the tape operation accompanied with the open processing, and for simplifying the operation accompanied with the close processing of the file. SOLUTION: At open processing of a file recorded in a magnetic tape, the position of a head to the magnetic tape is fixed to a prescribed position in a magnetic tape device 30, and emulation for dealing a tape operation corresponding to a command received from a device 20 being the origin of command is performed, by recognizing that the tape operation is virtually executed in the magnetic tape device 30.
